TEACHERS’ OBJECTIONS.

Napier, last night,
A well-attended meeting of toachers was held on Saturday to consider tho question of manual and technical instruction in the public schools, After considerable discussion, tho following resolutions were carried unonimously : “ That tho toachers hero assembled, while desirous of introducing the manual and technical subjeots into tho schools, are satisfied that it is impossible to carry out the requirements of the manual and technical instruction acts, without a considerable modification of the presept standard syllabus ; ” “ That in order ro enable teachers to carry on technical work, the inspector for the district bo given definite power by the Department to accept technical work in lieu of class or additional subjects occupying an equivalent time; " “That copies of these resolutions bo forwarded to the Education Department, tho Education Board, and the Press Association.
