TRAM ACCIDENT.

BISHOP OF NORTH QUEENSLAND

INJURED.

(Per Press Association.) Auckland, last night. To-day while the Bishop of North Queensland was in a trap with the Rev. G. A. Carver, ho met with a rather serious accident. Tbore was a good deal of tramway traffic at tho Ponsonby reservoir corner, and tho trap had to thread its way through, and owing to some obstacle in the way the horso swerved, and a tram which was coming aloQg at the time ran right into tho trap, the Bishop and Mr Carver being thrown over the back on to the road. Assistance was soon at hand and doctors in attendance. Mr Carver escaped with a sovere shaking. Bishop Frodsham was more seriously hurt, having received a severe scalp wound, and has been ordered to remain perfectly quiet for a week, all bis engagements being cancolled. Great sympathy will be felt for the Bishop, inasmuch as he intended to preach on Sunday and mako special appeals for assistance for his devastated diocese.
