Tho distribution of diplomas to the successful students of the Otago University took place this afternoon. There was a largo attendance. The Eev. J.C. Andrew, Vice-Chancellor of the New Zealand University, presided, and in opening gave some brief references to his connection with Otago in tho early days. Tho Registrar’s list showed the following diplomas for the last year Doctor of Medioine 1, M.A. 8, Honors in Aits 8, Honors in Science 1, Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery 10, B.A. 7, B.S.U. 5, B.S.C.in Mining Engineering 1, Bachelor of Laws 1. Professor Gilroy was the chief speaker, and regret was generally expressed at the absence of the Chancellor. The students held their usual capping carnival in the evening.
