SERIOUS END TO QUARREL.

Christchurch, last night.

A lad was taken to the hospital yesterday suffering from a severe cut in the groin. As his condition was serious to-day his depositions were taken. He stated that he had been washing himself and his mother asked him to go on an errand, Argument ensued, and the boy told his mother to “ shut up.” She then threw a carving knife at him, inflicting severe injuries. Tho patient’s condition was improved this evening.
