SIP, JOHN LOGAN CAMPBELL.

Per Press Association. Auckland, last night.

A meeting of citizens to-day resolved to erect a statue to Sir John Campbell, marking his munificent donation of Cornwall Park to the public. The Mayor, who presided, announced that the New Zealand Herald subscription list showed over .£IOO. The matter was enthusiastically taken up, and the sum of £7l was collected at the meeting. Tho Natives’ Association independently collected 15 guineas at its meeting.
