POVERTY BAY TEACHERS’ INSTITUTE.
A general meeting of the Povorty Bay branoh of the Teacher’s Institute was held at the Gisborne school on Saturday morning, Mr Rowley presiding. The voting for delegates to represent the Hawke’s Bay branch at the annual Council to be held at Nelson in January resulted in the following boing elected : Messrs Martin, Caughloy, Holmes, and Cole.
Correspondence was read from the Hawke’s Bay branch, and a general discussion took place regardingtho proposed reconstruction of this branch by subdividing the Hawke’s Bay Educational district into three co-ordinate sub-divi-sions, with centres at Napior, Gisborne, and Dannovirko respectively; the three to unite for general business, and to meet at Waipukurau twice a year. A sub-committee was appointed to go into tho matter carefully, and report at the next meeting.
