COLONIAL WELSHMAN HONORED.

London Welshmen, in eluding members of the House of Commons, leading commerieal men, lawyers, and pressmen, banqueted Mr. Hughes at the National Liberal Club. Mr. Lloyd George, who presided, said Mr. Hughes was a man of whom liis countrymen were very proud. Mr- Hughes, responding, . advocated cheaper cable rates and transport service, which would do more than anything to promote good feeling.

A pianist named Healy sought to lower the world’s record for 48 hours’ continuous piano-playing. Healy was forcibly romovod by a doctor’s orders after completing 46J hours. The pe former was in a low condition and the doctor intervened.
