KING’S COUNSEL

Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, yesterday. Messrs W. Stringer and J. J. Joynt were sworn in as' King’s Counetel to-day by Mr. Justice Chapman before the largest attendance of the legal jyrofession ever seen in the Christchurch Court. The oaths were taken separately on specially-bound Bibles, and in a■■ graceful speech, Judge Chapman paid Mr. Joynt, one of the oldest members of the profession in New Zealand, a high compliment. Both gentlemen made reply. DUNEDIN, yesterday.

Messrs Hosking and Solomon were sworn in as King’s Counsel by Judge Williams, who referred to the splendid appointments made.
