SETTLING MAORI LANDS.

Press Association. WANGANUI, yesterday. This morning the Aotea Maori Land Board opened tenders, and held a ballot for sections in several Native blocks between Raotihi and Wanganui River. The total area offered was-29,787 acres, varying from 340 to 775 acres. There were 60 applicants for 26 sections, totalling 23,300 acres. Thirteen sections were unapplied for, bub will probably be taken up by unsuccessful tenderers. The upset rentals for 26 sections taken total £665, the tendered rentals- being £834.
