Tlie Tramway Board are paying fees for sixty employees at the'ciaftiies of the St. John Ambulance Association, the men giving up their own time to attend. Tho Tramway Board’s coal contract this year has been divided between the Westport Coal Company at 19s 8d per ton, and tho State Coal Department at 16s 2d. Tests show the cost of power approximately tho same owing to tho larger consumption required of State coal. Tho Tramway Board have decided to prosecute any further case of women getting off the cars in motion, in view of six cases reported in one week. During Juno 724,201 passengers used the tramways.
