THE CHRISTCHURCH EXHIBI TION.
NETT LOSS '£77,500.
(Special to Times.) WELLINGTON, Nov. 26. Mr. Munro explains that the Exhibition had received up to October 31st last £87,617 from the Treasury, of which £27,117 had been refunded, leaving a net debt to the Treasury of £60,500. The vote of £17,000 on the Supplementary Estimates passed on Saturday evening was required to extinguish the Commissioners’ overdraft (shown above), and it was considered more than sufficient with certain assets to cover outstanding liabilities. The total loss to the Dominion, therefore, would bo £60,500, plus £17,000, £77,500.
