EXTRAORDINARY ACCIDENT.

An accident of a remarkable nature occurred on the G-orge-road on Friday afternoon to a young man named' Fowell. Fowell, who is 20 •years of age, was cycling throu'-h the Gorge, -and "when attempting to get over one of the .slips be lost his foothold and fell into the Gorge beneath, a distance of about 60ft. On the following Monday the young man recovered consciousness, to find’ himself lying on a le>cig6 of rock, a little- above the river. He tried to attract attention, but failed, and bein'" too weak to get up _bo was forced to spend another night on the ledge. On Tuesday lie managed to scale the bank and walk to the train at W akaronga. His* injuries ai’6 confined to skin* wounds and bruises, and he is. of course, suffering from exposure, but lie will soon probably be about ■again', none the worse for his extraordinary experience.
