AYHANGAREI, Jan. 16. A nvan named Nicholas Maddren,on remand, was charged at the Com t to-day with having destroyed by fire a house at iv:iipa la, occupied b> Geo. AA'etberall, and owned by the Northern Coal Company, on tire jih'ht of January Ist. Accused was ulso charged with entering the house of Mrs. Ohlsen on the same nigh:, and stealing therefrom notes and cash (to the value of £1(0. this amount was found, on tlie accused vnen Ire was arrested. Mr Wetherall was away at the t'Tne of the fire, and the police hold the opinion that the hre was -deliberately started by someone to draw Airs. Ohlsen from her house, thus giving an opportunity for ■the theft. ’
