There was a largo attendance ol members at the Turnngamii green yesterday, when a number of, good games were'played. Tho filial ol the Handicap Fours competition was also played between R. Siccet, C. Alorse, P. llallam, ami AA’. 0. Sheet (skip) and B. Hird, J. AV. Brown, AV. Ratelilfe and A. Sawyer (skip). Tho iormer rink jumped away with the lead, and on the 7th head led by 11 to 2. On the 13th head the scores wore 20 to 4, and on tho 20th head 25 to 9. Sawyer’s rink obtained o on tho last head, Sheet’s team thus winning easily by 25 to 14. 'The victory came as somewhat ol a surprise, as Sawyer’s team was favorite. Tho green was in tiptop order, and some excellent drawing was exhibited on both sides. GISBORNE GREEN.
A shield match was.played yesterday afternoon between rinks skipped respectively by Brady and Ponsford, and was won by the latter by a margin of ten points. The following shows the players: J. F. Pettie, J. A. Lucas, "Harris, Brady (24) v Clarkson, Craig, Eure, Ponsford (34). -. Other games played during tlie afternoon wore as follows: Johnston, AV. Pettie, J. AV. AA’itty (15) v.-Kyme, Douglas, T. A. Crawford (24); H. Lewis. Mackrcll, F. J. AVilson, and 10. AVilliams. (12) v, Gaudin, Preston, E. Lewis, J. H.-Martin (26); Alorgan, Burton, Geo. Aliller (16) v. Alalcolm, Pavitt, ltcdstono (17).
