At an inquest at Aleanee touching the death of John Tracey, an old resident who died while staying for the night at a neighbor’s house, the- .jury returned the following verdict, ‘lhat deceased met his death from an enlargement or fatty degeneration of the hea ( *^ RISTCHURCH) May 14. The municipal baths wero oponed to-night in tlio presence of an attendance of spectators -numbering unite one thousand. Speeches were delivered by the Mayor (Air. C. Allison), tho ex-Alayor (Afr. Geo. Payling), the Mayor of Dunedin, and Mr. Geo. Harris, president of the New Zealand Swimming Association.
