A NAVAL SUBSIDY. MR. DEAKIN’S SCHEME. LONDON, May 24. In the House of Commons Mr. McKenna stated that tho Australian naval subsidy would ceaso autonmucally iu 1913, or earlier if the l cw arrangement foreshadowed at tho l nlonial Premier’s Conference was i’ tiffed. Ho added that the scheme put forward by Mr. Deakin was at present only a baro outline, and required much amplification before it could be discussed with advantage, while tho difficulties inherent in it were very great.
