THE WESTPORT TRAGEDY.
A CHARGE OF MURDER.
COURT ADJOURNED. Press Association. WESTPORT, May 26. Olaf Halinen and Andersen, seamen of tho s.s .Canopus, came before Mr. Rawson, S.M., to-day, charged with having murdered Ernest John Bourko on Bth May. Connelly gave evidence similar to that which lie gave at the inquest. He accompanied the two men with Bourko to McLaughlin s cartshed, and that there Bourke was struck by Andersen, and struck, kicked, and searched by Halinen. Lengthily cross : examined, lie stated lie liaU never seen or had drinks with ainan who appeared in court named Haakon Haakonsen, who was the cook on ;-Hie barque Tacora, recently in port. Evidence was also given by William Murray, Hugh Duncan, Constable Keenan, and Constable Buttar, mainly similar to that given 'at the inquest. The court then adjourned till 10 a.m. to-morrowi
