HOCKY.

rOVERTY BAY ASSOCIATION. The weekly meeting of the Poverty Bay Hockey Association, was held in the Royal Hotel last evening. Present: Messrs J. J. Martin (chair), Grant, Olsen, Davy, Baker, Roderick, and Lewis. It was decided to proceed with the Shield matches on Thursday, also to send a representative team South on Sunday, 16th August, to play Hastings on the 17tli and Napier on tlio 18th. The representative team is to be selected after next Thursday’smatches, and all nlayers aro therefore requested to attend. Mr. Lewis was elected secretary pro tern, until Mr, Sargisson’s return. The matches for Thursday were arranged as follows: West End v. Te Rau, 2.15 p.m. ; City v. Kia Kaha, 3.20 p.m. Referees, Messrs Pavitt and Olsen.
