THE MISSING AEON.

NO TIDINGS YET RECEIVED[Press Association.] AUCKLAND, August 13. There is still no tidings of tlio steamer Aeon, hound from San Francisco to Auckland, and now 37 days out from the Californian port'. It is thought possible that tho steamer’s engines liavo broken down, or that she lias lost her propeller. The Aeon lias about a million feet of timber lor Wellington, and a couple of hundred tons of general cargo for Auckland, and also a considerable freighting for Australia. She is owned by tho Howard Smith Co., of Melbourne, and is a steel vessel ol 4221 tonsbuilt at Howedcii-on-Tyne in 1905. She lias only ouo propeller.
