A full number of pupils wa6 presented, and although the tests, were fully up to the English standard, a most satisfactory percentage of passes was recorded, and great credit is duo to Dir. Fraser, teacher. A largo number of parents and friends of the children put in an appearance, and were more than pleased at the success of the scholars. The Inspector expressed himself as highly pleased with the appearance of the youngsters, and their conduct and general proficiency. A native named Hura Paenga picked up a fine specimen of tlio frost fish, weighing about eight pounds, on tho AVliangara beach on Tuesday. After tho boisterous weather in the early part of the month, two weeks of fine weather have gone a long way to make amends. Lambing is now nearly half through, and tho prospects of aii excellent percentage are as good, if not better, than were last year’s. There is now an indication of spring in tho grass, and evorytjiing is looking well.
