MINING.
THE NEW ALPINE MINE. [Special to “Times.”] GREYMOUTH, Nov. 13. The New Alpine mine manager reports for the week ending November lOth '.is follows: “The cross-cut lias been extended a distance of IS feet through good ground, making a total distance from Hie shaft (including the chamber) of 30 feet. The drive can now be made straight for tlio reef, as ail the turn -required, about 45 degrees, Avas put in the first- few feet. °So far no baling lias been necesary. ‘and the formation is- good and dry.' Other work about the mine lias progressed satisfactorily during the week.”
