BAY OF PLENTY.
The official return of the local option poll 'for the Lay of Plenty district is follows: -—Continuance 2921 reduction 1451, No-license 2209. Total number of valid votes 5282. Continuance has been carried. REDUCTION IN PARNELL. [Pnnss Association.] AUCKLAND, Nov. 24. The official result of the Parnell is:—Continuance 2062, deduction 3408, No-license 3065. Valid votes 0509. Reduction was carried, but No-license was lost by 239. AiSHBURTON OFFICIAL RETURN. ASHBURTON, Nov. 24. The official recount of the licensing poll for Ashburton gives restoration 3071 votes and non-restoration 2011. The number of valid votes was 5032. Restoration was therefore not- carried. OROUA RETURNS. FEILDING, Nor. 24. The offiical -return for the Ordax licensing poll is:—Continuance 2301, reduction 1559, No-license 2391. No proposal was carried. DUNEDIN SOUTH. DUNEDIN, Nov. 24. The following are the official figures of the Dunedin .South licensing poll:—Continuance 3250, reduction 3271, No-license 4083. Valid votes 7370. Reduction carried by 33 votes. TAIERI RESULTS. The final count in connection with the Taieri licensing poll shows that reduction has been carried bv 94 votes. THE MASTERTON POLL —A PETITION. ‘ J MASTERTON, Nov. 24. In an interview with a credible authority to-day,a “Wairarapa Age” reporter was mtormed that it was absolutely certain that a petition is to be lodged oil behalf oi the licensed victuallers .of the electorate to declare the local option poll' at Masterton invalid. The grounds for the application were not divulged to the pressman, who was informed that they would not be available to the public until the return from "Wellington of Mr. C. A. Pownall. solicitor for the licensed victuallers, who is away on Supreme Court business.
