DUNEDIN, Jan. 1. The annual meeting of delegaterto the New Zealand Athletic Union was hold to-day. The following were present: Southland, Messrs Dodds (president), -Bell and Wilson: Otago. Messrs Fenwick, Hoblis, McKay and Keast; South Canterbury, Messrs J. Sims and Kennedy; North Canterbury, Messrs Goode and AVankUn : AA'cst Coast, Messrs Duffy and Kefforman; AA’airarapa, Air R. Smitli: AYellington, Mr Duncan, Hawke’s Bay, Messrs Marion and .Corcoran: Taranaki, Messrs Clarke. Ongley and Fielding. It was decided to wire the Wanganui Caledonian Society that un'ess it became affiliated at once all competitors competing at the sports on the 22nd lilt, would bo disqualified. All who competed at the fSout-h----land Caledonian sports yesterday, to-day were disqualified during the 2>lensure of the Union. The report showed that 175 bodies had hold sports during the year and 1690 competitors had been registered. The balance sheet shows a credit of £SB ss.

Tho AVeUington centre of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association held, its second provincial championship meeting to-dav. About 2,000 persons Avcre present. The chief interest centred ni tho championships upon the results of Avhich depended in" -a great measure the personnel of the team to represent the centre at the Noav Zealand championship meeting. M. Alulcaliy secured three of the championships, the 880 yards, the mile and the three mi e. lie created such a favorable impression that it is said a number of Ills supporters AA'ill offer to send him to compete in the Auckland Marathon Race. The following are the results of the championship events: 880vds Championship: M. Alulcihv I, H. AV. Thompson 2. Time: 2niin. 10 l-ssec. AVon easily, the second man syds away. The only starters.
100yds Championship: B. Goodbehere 1, AV. A. AVoodger 2. Time: llsees; a fairy close finish. AVon bv less than a yard. Four started.
High Jump Championship: A. Evenson (oft 4in) 1, L. MclCuy and J. McNamara (off 2iai) 2. These were the only competitors. 120vds. Hurdle Championship: .A. Evenson 1. L. Molvay 2. Tune: 18sec. AVon all the Avay. These Avcre the only competitors. _ 120 yds. Championship: AV. M. AVoodger 1, B. Goodbehcre 2. («. AA i•ton 3. Time: 24sec. Goodbchere was leading -at first, but AVoodger came aAA’ay and aa'ou rather easih. There were four competitors One Mile Championship : M. Alulcahy 1, AV. Harvey 2. Time: 4mm 57sec. A good race. Harvey kept behind until the bend for home av hen he made a spurt and passed the other man. Cameron 3. . 109yds race: Brinkman (Christchurch) 1, Shivas 2. The only two starters. A Von easily. Time: llsec. Walking Race, one mile: P. M-c-Coll (Wellington) 1. Also started: Flahertv (Christchurch) and Craik (Dunedin). After going half a lap Flaherty dropped out. AYith a quarter of a mile to go Me Coll was leading by more than 50yds., hut Craik out on a. fine spurt and beat his opponent by two -feet. About four yards from the finishing post McColl evidently considered, that Craik was attempting to bore him, and he caught the loader by the shoulder. After an enquiry Craik was disqualified and the race awarded to McColl. Time: 6ininfi. 52 4-sscc. Highland Fling: A Stewart (in-, vercargill) 1, R. McKecliuie (Dunedin) 2. J. Ogg (Dunedin) 3. Forde (oft, in) 105 ft. 11 Jin., 3. The winner, aided -by a strong wind, beat last year’s record by over 10ft.
