The Australasian Association for the Advancement of Science lias commenced its annual congress here, Professor Bragg presiding. Mr. G. M. Thompson resigned the position of local secretary in New Zealand, and Dr. Coleridge was appointed his successor. Professor Orme Mason was elected President.
The next meeting is to be held at Sydney. A resolution that the subjects for discussion bo selected two* years in ■advance was adopted. The Meuller medal was awarded to Professor David, in recognition of bis work in connection with Australasian geology. The President delivered an address oil radio-activity.
