SALE OF YEARLINGS. (Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Jan. 22. The sale of the Waikanae yearlings, held at Mr. lan Duncan’s private stables Tliornclon Quay, was very • largely attended. It attracted ,a good deal of interest from sporting people,, who included many visitors at present in Wellington, for the races. Mr. t j.j Pyne, of, Christchurch, who conducted the sale, succeeded in effecting a complete clearance of the fourteen yearling® offered. The satisfactory total of 1715, guineas was realised The highest-priced colt was secured for Victoria, by Mr. Harvey Patteison who was not to be out-bid for a brown colt by Kilcheran from Fantan, which was knocked down, to him for 350 guineas.
