Tho Socialist meetings in Beilin, though planned to coincide with tho royal visit, were restricted to protesting against tho municipality’s inadequate measures' to cope with unemployment. When the audiences quitted tho halls several sharp colli-' sions occurred with mie police after the royal procession had passed.
