CONCILIATION COMMISSIONERS.
MOTION BY OTAGO TRADES AND LABOR COUNCIL. (Press Association.) DUNEDIN, March 4; At a meeting of the Trades and Labor Council to-night an animated discussion took place regarding a communication from the Auckland Trades and Labor Council, with reference to the appointment of Mr. Harle G'les as Conciliation Commissioner. The following resolution was carried—■‘That while the Auckland Council may be justified dn protesting against the appointment o Mfr. Giles as Commissioner, this Council does not approve of the methods adopted by the Auckland Council in seeking to have Air. Giles removed from his position, and. further, this Council is of opinion that Mr. Giles, having been appointed Commissioner under-the Act, is entitled to be treated with respect, and be given a fair opportunity of proving his ability to fill the position.”
