A DISQUIETING PREDICTION.

AUCKLAND, Mar. 29. Mr Clement Wragge says, basing liis remarks on the results of the Antarctic experiences, that the northerly currents may be gradually undermining the high Polar plateau of snow and ice, and the time may come an the far distant future when tlie weight of the plateau may give way and cause a tidal wave, producing far-reaching and disastrous results. However, he adds that people need not worry, as the tidal wave may not occur until after a thousand years..
