A FEVER STRICKEN STEAMER.

Prometheus reports speaking the . steamer Echunga, bound from South- Africa- to Sydney, 93 miles from Sydney. The steamer reported that the captain had died from fever, and that several of the crew were suffering from* the same disease. - • ' (Received April 5, 1 a.m.) SYDNEY, April 4. The Echunga lias arrived. The donkeyrnan, and not the captain, is dead. Four others of the crew are suffering from malarial fever. [The Echunga is a steamer of 4589 tons. She is reported -as having left Capetown for Sydney on March 6th. .under the command of Captain Ellis.]
