The outlook in Armenia and Anatolia has greatly improved. The Sultan sent £30,000 for the relief of. sufferers by the massacres.

The “Daily Mail’s” Constantinople correspondent states that Shevket’s decision that the Government must govern without the interference of an irresponsible committee is causing friction among the Young Turks. Hilmi is Shevket’s choice, the 'Young Turks desiring Fend for Grand Vizier, and the Sultan preferring Muktar, latterly Ottoman commissioner to Egypt. GERMAN NEWSPAPER SLANDER. The “Ottoman Lloyd,” the German newspaper. at Constantinople, is accusing the British Foreign Office and press of supporting the recent reactionary revolution. •
