OPPOSITION IN ENGLAND. A MEN’S LEAGUE. United Press Association —Copyright. (Received May 20, 9.45 p.m.) LONDON, May 20. Lords Cromer and Curzon, and Lord James of Hereford delivered vigorous speeches at the Men’s League, opposing women’s suffrage. Sir Edward Clark, the Dean of Canterbury, Sir West Ridgcwav, and Admiral 1 romantic were present. Lord Curzon declared that the bulk of the married women did not favor female suffrage, that the wives of workers were indifferent or hostile, and that it was imnossib.o to enfranchise propertied women and infuse a vote to wives.
