CLYDE SHIPBUILDING RETURNS
United Press Association—Copyright (Received May 31, 9.50 p.m.) LONDON, May 31. The output of the Clyde shipbuilding yards for May was 40,580 tons, or 25,492 tons above May, 1908. New orders represent 45,000 tons.
WRECK OF A LONG-LOST WAR-

An English naturalist named Dale reports that the British warship Condor, missing since 1901, has been found submerged two mles from tho coast, near Barclay Sound, British Columbia. [The Condor was a gunboat.] R. D. MEAGHER’S CASE—APPLICATION FOR RE-INSTATEMENT. SYDNEY, May 31. The Full Court has commenced tho hearing of R. D. Meagher’s application for re-instatement on the roll of attorneys, from which he was struck off in connection -with tho notorious 'Dean ease. Tho Law Institute opposes tho application. Meagher, in accordance, with a desire expressed before the trial, has published a public apology for the course he pursued in the Dean case in reference to the late ’Justice Windeyer. ATTEMPT TO WRECK AN EXPRESS TRAIN. An attemt has been made to wreck tlic Brisbane, express at Guyla. Two sleepers were fixed across the line, hut were discovered shortly before the train arrived. It is announced at Berlin that Germany and France have expressed mutual regrets over the Casablanca incident, so far .as the respective officials blamed in the arbitration award are concerned.
EARTHQUAKE IN VICTORIA
MELBOURNE, May 31
A sharp earthquake shock occurred at Casteron at 2 o’clock this morning, accompanied by a loud rumbling, and lasting several seconds. The shock was sufficient to awaken people.
[Casteron is an inland town on the main road from Melbourne to Adelaide, and is 245 miles west of Melbourne by rail. The. population is about 5000.]
