Captain Strachan, of the ketch Envy, who brought five Tobi Island seamen 'from New Guinea, in the course of -a lecture, announced that he, had told the Tobi boys aboard the Envy that they would have to he handed over to the Germans. The hoys refused to go. ’He did not recognise the Federal Government in this matter. It was an 'lmperial affair, and he only recognised ’the Admiral commanding the station. So long as he lived he would not hand 'the hoys over to the German Govern'ment.
