CITY V. KIA KAHA
The hockey played on the- 'Victoria. Domain yesterday was not very interesting, the only game being between the City and Kia, Kaha Ciubs. Both clubs sent strong teams into the field and up to half-time neither side scored. In the second half. Corbitt put up a goal for the City club and Kia Kalia was thus defeated by one goal to nil. LADIES’ MATCH. The Gisborne Ladies’ Club afterwards met a strpng team from the High School. The school girls played well, .and if the:', had only hit out freely might . have done much better. Tho game was more by way of practice and neither side scored. MATCHES AT WELLINGTON. [Per Press Association.' AVELLINGTON, June 3. In hockey matches to-day the Wellington AVednesday representatives beat the Manawatu second team by 3 to 2. The match between the AVellington ad Manawatu Saturday representatives was won by AVellington by 4 to 2. AVeslcy Club beat Masterton by 7 to nil. The game was in favor cf AVeslcy Club all through. The Masterton goalkeeper played well, frequently saving his side. Carterton No. 1 heat Wellington hv 7 to nil. The* visitors showed good combination. Fisher and Reid scored in the first spell, and Fisher (four times)' and Tunnioliffe in the second. In the junior game, Metropolitan v. Carterton, the former won by 7 to 4. LADIES’ MATCH AT CHRIST-CH-UROH, [Per Press Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, June 3. Tho ladies’ hockey match between Timani and Rangitira (Christchurch), played this afternoon, resulted in a win for the latter by 4 to nil. MATCHES AT AVANGANUI. AVANGANUI. June 3. lii the hockey match to-dav. AVanganni beat Taiiiape by 3 to 1. Wanganui beat Alarton by 9 to nil. MATCH AT PALMERSTON. PALMERSTON N., June 3. The Masterton AV.F.C.A. hoc-'koy team heat tho Technical School to-day by 2 to nil. .The day was observed as a general holiday.
