A WELLINGTON SCHEME

[Per Press association., WELLINGTON, June 21. A block of land in the heart of the city, at the junction of Willis Street and Manners Street, known as Heath Estate, lias been offered to the City Council for street widening purposes. It was lately purchased by a syndicate, who are willing to take 4] per cent debentures at 40 years. According to the scheme suggested tho Council could widen both Willis and Manners Street and carry Victoria Street through into tlie latter. The. portion left, and the increased value by these improvements, would, it is asserted, fully cover the interest.'
