KNOX DIVINITY COLLEGE

OFFICIAL OPENING

[Peu Pukss Association.] DUNEDIN, June ‘23. The official opening of, the Knox Residential College for divinity students took place to-day. The function was very largely attended by prominentcitizens, anil was in every way a success. The proceedings opened with a dedicatory service conducted by the Rev. Jas' Chisholm (Moderator of the Presbyterian Assembly), and thereafter addresses were delivered by the Itev. A. Cameron, the Hon. G. Fowlfds, Rev. D. ‘Borrie, Mr. John Ross. Rev. \V. Hewitson (Master of the College), Rev. Canon Woodthorpe, Rev. P. VVFairclouglv, Rev. Dr. Watt, Mr. J. H. Walker (Mayor), Mr. Jas. Allen, M.l and Professor Gilray. In the afternoon the Rev. W. Hewitson held a reception. Tho Rev. Mr. Cameron, chairman or the erection committee, stated that the funds in hand were sufficient to meet the erection expenses of the college throughout.
