BURGLARS IN CHRISTCHURCH.
SEVERAL PREMISES ENTERED. (Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, July 8. It is stated that a number of promises in .Christchurch were burglarously entered last night, although the thieves got little satisfaction' for their enterprise. . Two offices situated in Gloucester Street were, ransacked at a late hour. The burglar# evidently gained admission with skeleton keys, and proceeding to the office of Mr. Friend, they .picked the lock of _ the door and went through the premises. Fortunately' the local manager had banked' late in the .afternoon, .and the only reward the thieves got was a small amount of loose silver from .a drawer. Mr. Leonard Blake’s office, opposite, was next ransacked, and drawers foiccd open, but the thieves come away empty , as nothing of value had been left in the office. It is understood that other premises were also entered.
