Dickson Poynder, M.P. for Wiltshire, has withdrawn from the Budget League on the ground that the Go; vernment’s amendments are only making land taxes more (unworkable. Several Ministerialists hold that Mr Lloyd George’s promise to exclude small holdings proves that the increment tax is no longer based on .principle.
