THE WOMAN’S LETTERS.
IMPUTES THE BLAME TO HERSELF,

Letters written by Mrs. Strait to Mrs Healey bave been read, wherein the former stated that she loved the deceased (Healey), and was jealous of another woman with whom he was on friendly terras, adding that she told Healey she was heartbroken, and intended to hill herself. He asked her to let him die with her. The last letter was written on the day of the tragedy. In' this the woman says that the blame for the deaths of herself and Healey lie at her door. Mrs. Streit is ’at present in custody on a charge, of murdering Healey.
[On July 9 the dead body of a man named Healey was found in a house at Newcastle, with Mrs. Streit lying beside ifc. She had taken ehlorodyne,. but was not in a dangerous condition. The police had received a letter intimating that both intended to die together.]
