A meeting representing all the J aline rston corps decided to-night to join the Manawatu Mounted Rifles in continuance of the higlily successful iuiiitary tournament that has grown to such large dimensions since it was started by the mounted corps. It was decided to call it the Royal New Zealand military and naval tournament, and to hold it on Novembei' Bth and 9th. The Commonwealth Defence Department is to be asked to send a contingent- over and also to send a judge. It is expected that a large representation of the Royal Navy and a large representation of the permanent forces will take part, and assurances of entries from corps all over New Zealand have been received. Last year’s tournament was the largest yet held in New Zealand, but it will be completely eclipsed this year.
