, Mr. Frank Harris, head of the firm of Frank Harris and Co., of Auckland, and Mr. Walter Grace, its travelling representative for the North Island*are .at present in town. - 5 ‘ ' r Mr. 0. N. Baeyertz, editor of the “Triad,” is at present in town. Mr,. Baeyertz has been appointed judge of elocution and singing at the Ballarat annual competitions, to be held'towards the'end of next month. In these competitions thousands of competitors from all parts of Australia take part, and the fixture is the most notable of its kind in the world. . ’ ; • ; It is expected that the Rev. Li Dawson Thomas, vicar -of He]y Trinity parish, will return to Gisborne from Australia on September Ist next.
