SUPREME COURT.
TIMARU SITTINGS. [Per Press Association.] TIMARU, Sept. 7. A sitting of the Supreme Court commenced this morning before Mr. Justice Denniston. The grand jury found true bills against George Mostyn and Moses Burgess, assault and robbery; _ Joseph Matthews, perjury; and Frederick John Lewis, carnal knowledge of a girl aged under 16 years. The jury found no bill in the case against Walter Coleman, alleged rape on a marriew woman. The case against Matthews, alleged perjury, was remanded to next sitting of, the Supreme Court, owing to the illness of the principal witness. George Mostyn and Moses Burgess, for assaulting and robbing Duncan McLaren, were each sentenced to three months’ imprisonment. SITTINGS AT' NAPIER. NAPIER, Sept, 7. In the case of Daniel O’Boyle, charged with forgery at Dannevirke, the jury failed to agree, and there will be a fresh trial to-morrow.
