POVERTY BAY CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP. Pare Keiha and W. V. R. Luttrell met in the semi-final round, for the Poverty Bay Golf Club’s championship ■ yesterday afternoon. The weather was perfect, but there was little interest taken in the match, as it was looked upon as a foregone conclusion that Keiha would win with a comfortable margin in hand. Though Luttrell played well, he had no chance against his strong opponent, who was three up at the turn, and brought the game to a conclusion at the! 14th green by winning by the large margin of 5 up and 4 to play. By his win yesterday Keiha placed himself in the final,, and meets the winner of the match between Geoff. Willock and W. A. O’Meara, who will probably get off their game on Thursday afternoon. NEW ZEALAND CHAMPIONSHIP MEETING. [Per Press Association.! AUCKLAND, Sept. 13. The New Zealand golf championship meeting opened at Cornwall Park links to-day, in perfect weather. The links were in splendid order. Play was today confined to the first two rounds of the open championship, and some good golf was shown. Clements, the Wanganui professional, led the first round with a score of 80, that being five better than Bogey. His nearest attendants f were. A. S. Duncan (Wellington) 82, F. G* Hood (Auckland, professional) 82, J. C. Bidwell (Wairarapa) 82, A. J. Abbott (Wellington) 83, J. Forbes (St. Clair) 83, J. C. Burns (Auckland) 84, H. B. Lusk (Christchurch) 80, and G. Martin .(Wellington professional) 85 x if. G. Hood, D. Hood, and G R. Crowley made the good score of 3J each on the home journey in the first ' r °ln d the second round W B.
