THE RUGBY GAME. YESTERDAY’S MATCHES. The Thursday competition . having been concluded, the Victoria Domain was the scene of three challenge .games yes ter cl a-}'. Notwithstanding the heavy rain of the previous day, the grounds were in good condition. There was only a moderate attendance of spectators. COMBINED MERCHANTS v_ CIVIL SERVANTS. Both these teams were fairly well represented, and a close and fast game resulted from the meeting. Combined Merchants eventually won by 9 points to 8. Mr. J. J. Martin refereed. BUTCHERS v. CARTERS. Although riot a very scientific exhibition of football, this game was a Veil-contested one. Victory finally rested with the Butchers, who scored 6 points to their opponents’ nil. Mr. Albert Pritchard was the referee. HAIRDRESSERS v. TAILORS. This was another willing game, but the tonsorial artists proved too good for their opponents, and in the end won by 10 points to 7. Mr. H. Pufletfc controlled the g^une. TO-MORROW’S MATCH. Groat interest is being taken in the final junior championship game to ho played J at the Domain to-morrow, between Y.M.C.A. and Kaiti-City. Both clubs are putting their strongest available teams in the field, and an excellent game is anticipated. The following team will represent Y.M.C.A,. in their match with KaitiC'ity juniors to-morrow :—Craill, H. Hepburn, Breingan, Barker, Brown, Ilew.ai, G. Fromm, Arthur, Perry, Paora, Porter, Muir, Everiss, Coleman, W. Hepburn; emergency, A. Hepburn. THE ASSOCIATION GAME. TO-MORROW’S PLAY. The following is the Taruheru team in their match with a combined eleven, to begin at Victoria Domain at 3.30 p.m. to-morrow: —Reidy, “Ginger,” Micliic, Lasker, Minnis, Oates, Sharpies, Coombes, Whitely, Mathieson, Reid. Referee, Mr. Hull.
