FARMERS’ CO-OPERATIVE ASSOCIATION
ANNUAL MEETING
1 I’r.n Press Association. 1 TIMARU, Sept. 27. The annual meeting ol ; shareholders of the Canterbury Farmers’ Co-opera-tive Association was held on Saturday. There was a large attendance. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. The chairman said that the report was satisfactory, seeing that during the year there had been another disastrous fire, and financial depression in the Dominion. The chairman analysed the balance-sheet, and then summed up. Generally speaking, the outlook he said, was sound, and he confidently looked forward to a good year. In the discussion two shareholders directed criticism mainly to the interests of small farmers and’ to the auctioneer’s account, claiming that th© former business was overlooked. A motion was carried increasing th© capital by £50,000. Two other motions were lost, one asking for a return affecting out-of-Dommion shareholders, and the other that no bonus be paid on salaries.
