The bal-ance-sheet slimved a balance to credit of £204 9s. A draft deed of trust Avas approved, under which the entire control of the scholarship and aAvardmg of same Avas left in the hands of trustees, any variation of tlie trust only to be by the Board of GoA-ernors of the Canterbury College after consultation with the trustees. A design for the inscription on the memorial tablet was approved.

At the Harbor Board to-day a letter from the Board’s solicitors advised that some provisions of the new Harbors Bill are expected to he extremely detrimental to this Board’s interests in certain directions, and that other Boards had approved of these provisions Avithout recognising that they were detrimental to themselves also.

Foster Fraser arrived here by the second express last night, arid was welcomed by the Caledonian Society, Gaelic Society, and Bums’ Club He was accorded a civic welconm to-day. Mr Foster Fraser’s civic welcome took place at the Town Hall at noon the Mayor, Primate, and editors ot the daily papers speaking.
