A NEW BATTLESHIP—CRUISER

The construction of a battleshipcruiser will be commenced at Devonport in November. It will be of 70,000 horse-powsr, with a speed of 30 knots. Several firms are construction 13.5-inch guns. LABOR PARTY’S LOYALTY ATTACKED. AIELBOURNE, Oct. 14. In the debate on the Defence Bill, Air Johnson declared that a certain section of the community were anxious to see an Australian navy because they could see a possible chance at some future time of perhaps using the navy to embarrass Britain under certain conditions. Utterances had been made use of in this country which admitted no other conclusion. Air Johnson proceeded to attack the loyalty of the labor party and its newspapers.
