WAIIIOA BOROUGH NOMINATIONS. fPan Press Association.! WAIROA, Oct. 16. There are seventeen no mi nations for eight seats on the Borough Council, and three for the Mayoralty. NAPIER MUNICIPAL BATHS. NAPIER, Oct. IG. In consequence of the rain, the opening of the Napier municipal baths was postponed till Tuesday night, and the sports till Wednesday. WELLINGTON SUPREME COURT. WELLINGTON, Oct, 16. At the Supreme Court to-day, a young woman, named Bertha Brown, charged with concealing the- birth of her child, came up for sentence, Mr. Justice Cooper described the casq as a very sad one, the woman being more sinned against t-lian sinning, and ordered accused to come up for sentence when called upon. William Willis, against- whom there were previous convictions, was sentenced to three years on charges of breaking and entering; and the judge imposed a- similar sentence on James McLean, charged with theft and forgery. ' CHAMBER OF COMMERCE DELEGATES. CHRISTCHURCH, Oct. 16. The Chambers of Commerce delegates, with their wives and daughters, ‘were- taken for a trip in the country in motor care to-uay by members of the local Chamber of Commerce.. KaTapoi, Rangiora, Lincoln, and Tai Taptt districts were visited. The delegates will leave* for Wellington to-night. WELLINGTON, October 17. The British Chamber of Commerce delegates arrived from South this afternoon. They were met by the Prime Minister, and a gathering of citizens, •and welcomed to the city. A number of them were taken for a motor drive to the Hutt Valiev this afternoon.
