SHAKESPEARE MEMORIAL THEATRE. United Press Association —Copy right. LONDON, October 24. At an enthusiastic meeting at the Mansion House arranged by the Shakespeare Memorial Committee, it was decided to appeal for £500,000 for the purpose of founding a national theatre, £IOO,OOO devoted to the purchase of a site, £150,000 for the building, and £250,000 for an endowment. A MILLIONAIRE’S PURCHASE. Mr. Pierpont Morgan has purchased Marsden Perry’s collection of Chinese porcelain, 300 flawless specimens, for 600,000 dollars. THE NIMROD ON EXHIBITION. There were 30,000 visitors to the Nimrod. The profits, amounting to £2OOO. ■will he given to charities. The Nimrod is going to Liverpool and other British, also Continental, seaports. NEW THEATRE FOR SYDNEY. . SYDNEY, October 25.
