In connection with the Bermondsey election outrage, Mrs Chaplin and Miss Neilson have been committed for trial. A doctor was unable to affirm whether or not Mr. Thorley’s injury was from an irritant fluid or the effects were per-
manent. Suffragettes at Birmingham posted posters on the windows and doors and broke windows of Dr. Hassell’s house, as a protest against his helping to forcibly feed suffragists in gaol.
